MISSION

The SWAA- RWANDA, as the international SWAA ,has mission to reinforce capacities of women to master the causes s and the consequences of HIV/AIDS upon women in Rwanda and in Africa .

Particularly in Rwanda ,this organization has mission to reinforce the capacities ,the knowledge ,the comprehension and the commitment of Rwanda society in general with a particular accent on women and girls to improve their rights in reproductive health and in fighting against AIDS .

OBJECTIVES

To contribute to the prevention of spread of HIV/AIDS and reduce the impact of this epidemic among Rwandan population in general and wives and girls in particular

Achievement of SWAA/Gitarama Branch

- Since the year 2003 ,the Gitarama branch has got a program of training though the reproductive health and IST and HIV/AIDS for 160 on different level according to their organizational structure at Kamonyi , Muhanga and Ntenyo districts.

-Those themes were taught to the member of PLH (People Living with HIV/AIDS) and orphan children of AIDS and head of the families of whom SWAA take care . Those associations are DUTABARANE ,TUVEMUBWIGUNGE ABIZEYE ,TURWANE KU BUZIMA and NDENGERABANA.

-With those association ,we have implemented a programme of sensitization through testimonies .

-The SWAA/GITARAMA puts in practice its objectives by taking care of PLH vulnerable of those associations though educational pick - up charge ,payment of mutual insurance fees of health and the support to the small productive project.

-Since May 2004 we have created consulting and orientation center with the financial support of USAID -IMPACT RWANDA .for giving opportunities to listen ,to frain ,to advise to educate and support the PLH and their families .
